Cisco Nexus Installation and Configuration

Cisco Nexus product portfolio with NX-OS operating system is one of the most important new product innovations that the company has been done in recent years. This product portfolio is targeted to one of the fastest growing areas in tele-/datacommunications networks – the Datacenters. Ranging from Cisco Nexus 7000 backbone switch to Cisco Nexus 1000V virtualized software switches, these products fulfill all the demands regarding datacenter switching both on LAN and SAN side.

The purpose of this course is twofold. First is to give participants broad overview of the Nexus product line, its position inside modern datacenter network architecture and all the necessary/required components that are needed to create a Nexus-based solution. All products, including Nexus 9000, Nexus 7000, Nexus 5000, Nexus 4000, Nexus 3000, Nexus 2000 and Nexus 1000V are detailed. In addition, the operating system NX-OS architecture and relevant benefits over other OSes are discussed.

The second part of the course is to give participants hands-on experience on how to install, configure and to a certain extent, troubleshoot Cisco Nexus –based datacenter architectures.

Participants of the course are expected to have basic knowledge of networking including e.g. how to configure basic LAN and routing features. Experience of Cisco IOS configuration helps to understand the topics and exercises.

Course Goal: The goal of this course is to offer practical hands-on view of the Cisco Nexus product portfolio.

When using the service, the following types of personal information may be handled; name and contact information, employee information and other information from the client company, end user information, information related to use of the service and customer satisfaction information. This information is needed for the maintenance and development of the service. In terms of the personal information being handled, the customer is the controller as intended in information protection legislation and the service provider is the handler.

The customer's personal information is to be handled in the manner outlined in the agreement and this service description in order to provide and develop the services. Any other handling of the customer's personal information and its effect on costs in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation are to be agreed upon separately between the parties to the agreement.

The provider or their subcontractor may collect data for the maintenance, improvement or analysis of the service. The provider reserves the right to use subcontractors in the production of their services and sub-handlers in the handling of personal information. The customer has the right to receive information on the provider's subcontractors and sub-handlers upon request.
